TIRPUDE’S OUTREACH PROGRAM

Tirpude’s Outreach Program (TOP) is an initiative by Tirpude Institute of Management Education, Nagpur, to inculcate a sense of social responsibility among students.  Our aim is to sensitize the students on various social issues and their civic responsibilities. Program intends to provide a helping hand to the needy section of the society by arranging or making use of available resources while imparting necessary knowledge to the students.

Students are taken to selective places within the city to make them confront with challenging facets of human life. Idea is to broaden their sense of understanding and make them mature to realise their civic and social duties. In the event of any natural calamity or some tragedy, TOP prioritises a visit of its students to the affected area in order to carry out necessary help activities within available resources and time constraints.

Purpose

Main objective of the program is to develop civic sense among students and bring awareness about prevalent social issues around.  Intention is to develop the young students into responsible citizens by introducing them to real and challenging situations faced by the society and initiating them into finding suitable and quick solutions.

It is believed that the program will go a long way in instilling the feeling of team work, compassion and good communication skills amongst young students, which will eventually transform them into responsible & caring citizens of the country.

Approach

A group is formed comprising of students who are monitored by few assistant professors of the college. Place, date, time and purpose of visit is explained to all the students in advance, whenever a project/task is undertaken.

All students gather in college premises and leave at decided time to reach the selected venue for action. They are accompanied by professors to provide them necessary guidance in respect of the proposed visit. Volunteers are selected from a group of students to lead the entire group for executing the scheduled program.

Student involvement

For every TOP activity a group of students ranging from 40 to 100 in number are a part of the TOP activity; this depends on the place to be visited and the task to be accomplished. Every month the students undertake one or two activities.
